I got the Aurora Cree R2 and here is some pictures of it.

All beamshoot was done with Eneloop batteries in the flashlights.

In a bounce test they was nearly equal in power.

The Aurora was drawing about 1A from the eneloop.


Edit:
My current measure was wrong, using another meter I get 1.3A and using a current clamp I get between 1.3A and 2A, RMS 1.6A. It looks like it is very depend on the source resistance. The switching frequency is 100KHz, i.e. no noise or pwm flicker.
