After months of waiting and nagging the dealer... I have finally received these EagleTac PN series flashlights. The first thing that catches my eye is there is a "shiny" change in their packaging:

the specification sticker is different, it's a glossy shining paper. The side of the box have this printed:

I recognize some but not all symbols, anyone here can share what those symbols mean? I only recognise "fragile", "this way up", "recycle", the rest I have no idea...

The line-up: 1 x PN20a2 NW, 1 x PN20a NW and 1 x PN20a2 CW



size/height comparison with other AAA lights


First, let's take a look at PN20a NW. The specifications:

LED: Cree XP-E Q4 5A
Max Lumens: 75 (60 OTF) lumens
Reflector: Lite OP
Power source: 1 x AAA battery
Operational Voltage: 0.8V - 3.2V
Output modes: 2
User Interface: Turning the head - Tighten to turn on, tighten further for High
Material: Hard Anodized Aircraft Grade Aluminum
Runtime: 1 hour on High, 4.5 hours on general
Accessories included: 1 x O-ring, 1 x split-ring, 1 x lobster-claw, 1 x diffuser, 1 x Duracell AAA battery

the head contact, the design looks similar to EagleTac T-series flashlight, but in miniature form


the front of body tube


inside the body is the negative terminal contact spring.


the body knurling and thread. PN20a has the thread anodized. The o-ring is slightly larger than PN20a2.

the crenelated front, doubt it's for tactical, but more on letting one knows if light is still on when bezel down.


the clip and the well thought-out lanyard/ring-hole. this PN20a can tail-stand.
clip is removable (i think, haven't try removing it), it's firm!


here we have the diffuser attached. unlike EagleTac T20/P20 series, this diffuser is cap-on instead of screw-on. as usual,

EagleTac still makes the best diffuser IMO.

Next, let's look at PN20a2.NW and PN20a2.CW. The specifications:

Runtime: 1 hour on High, 6 hours on general
Accessories included: 1 x O-ring, 1 x diffuser, 2 x Duracell AAA battery

inside the body tube, the switch spring is silver in color, different from the PN20a gold plated

the body is nice to hold, but a little too smooth.


It says "EagleTac PN20a2 Pointer"... no tail-standing on PN20a2

Frankly, I really don't think the general mode on EagleTac is what they claim to be, it's looks much brighter than 12/18/22 lumens than they put in the spec...
