Hey everyone, just got some info on the new upcoming D1000 and D1500 P60LED Dropin modules from NeoFab. I got some info and pictures for the D1000 module specifically:

NeoFab D1000 1-stage Cree XP-G module

- Input Range: 3.3V-9.0V
- Output Current: 1.0A
- Efficiency: 80%~85%
- Battery Type: 2xCR123, 2xRCR123/16340, 1x18650
- 5.5 Degree TIR Optic
- Constructed of Copper or Brass
- Highest Available Cool White Bin Cree XP-G Emitter



The current prototype and pictures are using a Cree XP-E emitter, but the final product will be using the XP-G.

Just got both the D1000 and D1500 prototype dropins today. Here are some pics with comparison to the M61:

The D1000/1500 look very close in design to the M60/61, but the reality is there's probably only so many ways you could design this type of P60LED dropin. One noticeable difference is that the M60/61 has a flat bevel behind the rim where it comes in contact with the rim of the flashlight body, whereas NeoFab chose to taper it much like the shape found in common P60LED dropin modules.

My initial impressions for the preview:

I think Neo's off to a good start with these prototypes. They are definitely a little rough at the moment and of course a work in progress. After some more tweaking and/or revisions, I expect these D1000 and D15000 dropins to be yet another superb product from NeoFab.

Below are my readings for both the D1500 and the D1000. Please note that I have a Malkoff M30 that makes 313 OTF via 1.8A of current (special one). It does with the Malkoff 8 degree optic and XR-E 5200lux at 1 meter calculted. So, these new drop-ins D1500 and D1000 make more lux and potentially more throw then even those awesome M30/M60 XR-E's.
